Okay, here's the thing:
Sometimes, people ask questions and ask for assistance under a certain premise.
You may ask for clarification whether you have understood their premise correctly.
You might even ask whether their premise is correct - once.
But if you don't listen to what they say and just keep on challenging their premise without knowing their full context, you are not being helpful - you are just being an asshole.
