This 4-Tile Tesselation is described in the Paper introducing the Hat Tiling by Smith et al (et npub1jwwx6xk0hmk0t4dta8m3kjctqwp7phrcma7eqhc6zsxck3l8ey5qu8p3r3 (npub1jww…p3r3) ) as a kind of limit for a distorting inflation rule for clusters of hat tiles.
Since the Hat Tiling as such does not have a (non-distorting) Inflation Rule this is the closest to the Hat Tiling possible for my inflation-based code.
