On the one had, to my American eyes this obviously isn't great, but it's still surprising that it rises to the level of being a scandal given that it was in the midst of the pandemic.
On the other hand, it's the Guardian taking advantage of an opportunity to tweak a Tory, so I'm unsure how scandalous most UKians would really find it?
