I hate fundraising messages from Democratic PRIMARY candidates that begin “I’m the Democratic candidate running to defeat [Famously Terrible Republican].” I think it’s dishonest. You are running against other members of your party for the CHANCE to run against [Famously Terrible Republican]. This looks to me like you’re trying to fool people who don’t understand the system very well, and trick them into giving you money. It’s disrespectful of your actual opponents and confusing to the public.
