"content": "multiple implementations of a standard would be better... But wait, there is no Rust standard specification! Also: everything gets statically compiled, have a security bug in let's say a TLS/SSL implementation and you cannot just replace a shared library and have all the programs benefit from the fix (a case where static linking sucks). Oh wait, there's no stable ABI in Rust, so one cannot make shared libraries!\n\nI agree that Rust the language has good ideas, and learning to use it has value and will give a programmer new mental models to work with. Now, Rust has its share of issues (which may be non-issues for *some* projects, actually) so I'm very skeptical of “Rust fanboyism”. It's one tool more in the toolbox.",
