Sometimes, sometimes a kid will come to our Discord and act disrespectfully. And normally, the move would be a ban, right?
But we're a school. And I believe in kids. So the first move is redirection, clarification, and empathy. It doesn't always work. But when it does, we've not only changed some of how they treat others, but given them a place to learn and grow.
It is imperfect, messy, and laborious, but you gotta start with faith that they can do better. If you don't believe it, why should they?
