I've occasionally used my cnc router to engrave old photos (stills from silent era films, mostly) into wood. I've thought that I should do the same with my own photos, but every time I've tried, I couldn't find a photo of my own that worked. But recently I was inspired to make this: I photographed my hand holding wire cutters, and engraved the image into a block of mohogony. Came out great. Will be doing more.

(The "hand holding wire cutters" idea was inspired by Tina Modotti's 1920 closeups of worker's hands.)
