I don't wanna talk down on Americans, but it's amazing that they started as British, but now are culturally so far from being European.
* US friends did not understand that when we invite them, we are paying and not splitting the bill
* an American Christian did not understand why I needed candles for Xmas
* US female friend did get extremely angry at me when I told her what clothing was appropriate for an event. as if I had insulted her. she showed up dressed inappropriately
