I’m calling and thinking about this now clearly ongoing collection of new hand drawn works as a series of ‘small dilemmas’ - which can of course be taken as literally or poetically as anyone might choose or like to
But from this side of the conversation and proposition, however they may be received or engaged with, small and personal ‘dilemmas’ is what they are - in a very real sense
And as they continue to happen at multiple scales at once, I’m labelling and gathering them into S / XS / XXS collections as they appear
I’ve always been a bit uncomfortable about sharing my physical drawing online - the digital documentation only ever really seems to assert the image… and the image is always such a small part of what I’m trying to find and work through with them as objects
But as I said when I first began this series, I do want to find ways to begin to record and share something of these new paper works, as and however they develop… So I will keep trying
To thread them together, I’m using the tags #dilemma and #smalldilemmas on related notes… any of my visuals with those tags here will be part of this series and process, original, and hand drawn
