This is a lovely rant and I agree with all of it. Wish I'd had the courage to write it.

I also believe that this insanity of complexity will kill us if global warming or any of a zillion other ills doesn't do it first. But it may win the race. People don't appreciate the cost of all these layers of "I can just use this."
