I mean do you ask a family member that they should always work for them at all times while they are being abusive and less caring, the same thing is with friends too and in this case such relationships extend to underage youths which also involves such social relationships

The point is it needs to be mutual and this idea of gaining something out of it is commodifying things, it's the exact reason why relationships are falling apart as sole sexual satisfaction all the time with hours of pornography at view is what is normalized

Maybe our culture is at fault for pushing this idea of a fantasy world where people will always get what they want even at the expense of others, the fact is that we should have an understanding with that person who they engage in relationship with and like i stated it doesn't even have to be long lasting as people can have relationships as long as they want but as long as there is some social element to it instead of say just moving on with other hundreds of people to choose and pick with
