I'm reading a doc that emphasises how the benefit of doing something was that #security activities took less time to do. The document emphasised how much time was saved. I had an epiphany.

Unlike money, time saved is always spent. If I didn't have to spend an hour doing X, well, I still spent that hour doing Y. So the benefit of saving time on #infosec is that we did spend the time, but we were able to spend the time differently.

Focus on the benefit from what we DID spend time on, and how saving time in security created the space for that benefit. Don't focus on the fact that we DIDN'T spend time on security.
