Well...MX-Linux is on my new HP laptop, Easy to do after twiddling with the UEFI.
Once I had disabled all the HP sure protection nonsense - it throws a proper hissy fit if the OS is see's is not windows... Also, secure boot is off as well...so far, it's running nicely.
Now...updates, and tweak the look and feel, so that it's home
