I really liked that movie too. Little girl vampires like that one and the one in Interview with a Vampire are always uncomfortable because there's a sexual undertone with the vampire aesthetic. Makes them feel like an abuse victim that enjoys it.
As for Oliver Stone, I'm not actually that familiar with his work. But there's always room for personal dislike of the grotesque. That not exactly what I was trying to get at.
