Deep on my bones I believe there is and never will be any way to counter Sybil attacks except scale of honest nodes Or some authority that decided which nodes are trustworthy.
But I don't want to spoil this so I will check what Whanau is, and in the very unlikely event that I was persuaded by it I will say so publicly.
I wouldnt start a whole thread about your reservations, mainly because you didn't ask for a reply, but also because I bet if you have to make a commitment to a DHT today, you won't even find the alternative, for these reservations to factor in at all.
