i don't know who might need to hear this, but:
if you have an external SSD that you're using with Final Cut Pro, and the upgrade to Sonoma has caused it to randomly unmount and remount, making editing impossible:
inserting a $20 powered usb-c hub between the drive and the computer totally fixed it for me
