I've given this a lot of thought, and I think the impacts of AI will only exacerbate the existing power dynamics. The wealthy controllers of production will use AI to create new ways to drive a wedge between the haves and have-nots, exploiting fears and scarcity to maintain their grip on power. (Very Marxist I know)
One potential way to counter this is through decentralized platforms like Bitcoin and Nostr, which offers a viable alternative to the traditional monetary and information systems that workers have no control over.
By providing a means for workers to opt out of the system and self-sovereign their lives, Bitcoin and Nostr can help to empower individuals and challenge the existing power structures.
As someone who's busy raising a family, working, and trying to stay informed about politics, I've found that running a Bitcoin node (I need to figure out a Nostr node next) is a way for me to maintain a permanent vote for free speech, privacy, and a fixed money supply.
No talking heads from the media needed to inform my decision. No fear of AI, inflation, the stock market, or politics when my mind is quiet.
I cast my vote by running the node (it cost virtually nothing) shut off the news, talk about decentralization to the point of being annoying to my friends, family, and coworkers and carry on with my life.
