Malaysia will be 95% cashless by 2025. These days, I don't even go out with my wallet. I usually go for walks in the morning, and I will just bring my smartphone with me and get my coffee at the nearby cafe.
Going cashless also reduces money laundering and other shady money stuff. ASEAN is creating a cashless system where you don't have to change your money when you visit ASEAN countries.
