i remember growing up i used to like, watch tv shows or movies where there'd be a hero and i always remember thinking. man, i'd hate to be them, their life looks like it sucks. like some kind of struggle against adversity, it looks really unpleasant. they spend their whole story doing their duty or righting wrongs or something, they never get to do anything THEY want. and everybody's looking at them all the time, they're the center of attention. it seemed awful, the opposite of aspirational
