My Asus mobo’s onboard Bluetooth was trash too – I got this adapter to use instead and it’s been way more reliable with my Elite Series 2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C1ZDYFSZ
Note: if you decide to get it, you’ll need to disable the onboard Bluetooth via BIOS (which I did) or Device Manager to prevent the OS from preferring the wrong adapter.
