well, technically you are using a long private and public key. you have to :) i see that you're using the primal client, is that correct? is a great client. you can find your private key and public key in the settings menu under the account tab. you'll want to save that private key somewhere safe. the public key is like your username, but it's very complicated to give to users. we have something called a nostr address that we use, it's like an email address, or lightning address, but for nostr. it's a human readable format for your public key. primal may offer them to users for free, but you can also use a provider for your nostr address, or you can setup your own if you want. if all of this is too complicated then you can skip it entirely.
