Well, as the #costofliving crisis continues & #inflation starts to drive funeral costs towards £10k, you'll be unsurprised to learn that it would seem that 'direct' cremations (where the deceased has no service but is just taken directly to crematorium) now account for around one in five cases at the end of life.
Of course, some might never have had a funeral in any case, but as the proportion grows more people are missing an act of closure.
