See, I was against UBI for the same reasons... Until good AI came out. If the doomsayers are right in that most people will lose their jobs to AI, there will be no other option than UBI (except stupid options that will hold progress back).
If you don't have a job, you have no money to buy goods and services. If you can't buyngoods and services, the companies are not making money. Any company that rejects the cheapest option (AI workers) will go out of business first. No company will want to do that
If they are wrong, we're fine. Most likely AI won't replace workers. Workers who use AI will replace those that don"t. But there's always a chance...
