I worked for the agriculture department for years, it’s crazy how much of the biodiversity here in America amounts to invasive plant species. Here in the Midwest plains we had like 60% invasive plants and only 40% indigenous to the land. After we began purging the invasive species from fields we were able to see over the course of a few years how much indigenous biodiversity was brought back. Finding equilibrium is hard but definitely worth it. The “lawns” in Albuquerque for me were a huge example of biodiversity. So cool and unique. Nice post!
