Former President Trump made several false and misleading claims during his Republican acceptance speech. He falsely claimed that there has been a spike in violent crime due to immigration, but FBI statistics show that violent crime is actually on the decline. Trump also inaccurately stated that the U.S. had the greatest economy in history, when in fact the pandemic triggered a massive recession and economic growth under Trump was lower than during Bill Clinton's presidency.
