Our schools are dedicated to team sports now, where our children are taught to cheat if you can get away with it, injure the star players on the other side if you can, and winning games is the most important thing a school provides its students. Follow the money. HS football and basketball coaches make large multiples of teachers' salaries and more is spent on sports facilities than on classrooms. Team loyalty becomes nationalism.
