Despite very well-meaning employees on the inside, it never came to anything—except taking political pressure off companies for the cost of a press release, a few meetings, and an extraordinary amount of time from internal staff who were also left in the lurch. That was the year I decided to focus on independent research—I wasn't going to be fooled by tech firms again.
