Over in #Austria npub10r22zfd5vhjqaajmjn59ua30t4rh7zdezkguenzzf7sflajj832sl0w6yx (npub10r2…w6yx) has been doing a lot of work on #supermarket pricing (all worth a read in his timeline), but one thing also common in the UK is 'cyclic discounting'.
Supermarkets, have some products on a cycle of #discounting with a period of them on offer & then a period of them not (partly driven by a legal requirements to have a period at full price before 'discounting' can be claimed).
We should really look at this the other way round: regular periods of higher margins!
