to charge just 1 car at 50 kW you need about 250 m² or a canopy covering about 21 car spaces (4.88 m x 2.44 m)
except i haven't taken into account sun angle... so divide by cos(angle of sun from veritical)
i think EVs should be covered with solar panels - it isn't enough, but it's not nothing. should get you about 50 km per day.
today i saw 2 Tesla's being charged... at night... not very green and soon cost will be on par with petrol (for a small car)
