#WordWeavers 8/17 Are real people you know ever the basis for characters in your work?
That I know personally? Not so much. Some characters have attributes of different public figures for the sake of satire, but they're never carbon copies.
Some characters are certainly reminiscent of people I know. My step-dad apparently thought (incorrectly) that he was the basis of Tali's step-dad Elphin which is a rather self-deprecating comparison, given Elphin's reputation for never doing anything right.
