also I'm thinking they knew this but that it was important that genshin is 0% autoplay which flags any mobile game as being part of a certain (low) tier to declare its intent and make its seismic shifts in gacha as a whole + add weight to dailies 'n how they relate to game as a whole
i don't mean to shill for corpo, but the with .5D in 2.5D looming i gotta think of choices like that as part of the artistry/building the experience and i choose to believe that sometimes it's 'cause people care about stuff, not just money engine
