I hadn't been staying on top of the news around #H5N1, but I see something interesting (or mildly alarming) is happening.
Cows in the US are testing positive for bird flu. So far cows in herds in Michigan, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Idaho have tested positive.
And there seems to be indication of cow-to-cow transmission.
As you might imagine, viruses and factory farming are an awfully risky combination. Animals packed together, loads of moving about. Pigs never far away.
