On the topic of old, i might not have learned cobol, but i think i qualify. I just noticed wms trying to take stuff out of my hands just complicates things.
Example would be how i configured volume control (in scripts/keybindings), only to later notice i have different devices relevant at times, so it does not work. If i had KDE or used Gnomes, it might have worked... or it might have been way worse. I prefer missing functionality over counterproductive automation.
