Yup, this right here was what I was trying to communicate. Nice summary!

The whole idea of "quid pro quo" that is attached to everything we do is, I believe, the single, most damaging idea that humanity has come up with as a metric of value. And, regardless of what level of "world" one lives in, humans will always seem to use this label. People that do things only "because they can be done" or for their own interest or need are devalued in society.

For instance, most people would say that this very conversation that we're having has no "value" because we're just talking; but in reality, we're communicating ideas and talking about things that may inspire one or more of us to do something in our daily lives. A single action might not have an inherent, direct "value" in and of itself, but it can't be taken in isolation; it's one action in a chain of other actions that may or may not result in "value" to someone.

The fact that a person exists as an independent human being should be the most priceless and ultimate value by which humanity judges all other comparisons. A person is priceless for simply being, not for what they do or what makes them the same or different than other equally priceless human beings.
