I run a Plex server that often gets accessed by clients that can't do HDR, or have low speeds, so being able to transcode and tone map 4k HDR files has helped me simplify the library. I used to have to keep non 4K SDR copies for those clients.
I do have to avoid DV files, since those can't be transcoded.
