An American tourist in France stops in a quaint French village full of charm. He and his wife find a lovely little hotel.
At reception the American says to the hotel keeper, 'Do you mind giving me a tour of your Hotel before I decide to stay?' 'Yes certainly' says the hotelier, 'but as a show of faith I would like you to deposit 100 Euros which you can have back if you decide not to stay.' 'Sure' says the American and hands over 100 Euros. The hotelier looking at the money says, 'I am a little busy right at this moment, do you mind if my wife shows you around the hotel? 'No, that's fine,' say the American. He and his wife and start their tour.
The hotelier takes the 100 Euros and goes to the local builder. 'Here is the 100 Euros I owe you for the work you did on my Hotel.' 'Thanks very much.' says the builder.
The builder takes the 100 Euros to the local timber merchant and says, 'Here is the 100 Euros I owe you for building materials.' 'Thanks very much.' says the Timber merchant.
The Timber merchant goes to the Mayor's office and says, 'Here is the 100 Euro bribe I owe you for cutting down the local woodland.' Thanks very much says the Mayor.
The Mayor goes to the local prostitute and says, 'Here is the 100 Euros I owe you for your services.' 'Thanks very much.' says the prostitute.
The prostitute goes to the hotel and says to the hotelier, 'Here is the 100 Euros I owe you for renting me the rooms.' 'Thanks very much.' says the hotelier.
At this moment the American tourist returns from his tour of the hotel, ' Thank you for the tour of the hotel, but I don’t think I will stay after all.' The hotelier hands the American tourist back his 100 Euros.
