Regarding the whole thing, it’s interesting.
If it turns out it was Russian air defences and Prigozhin was on board (or was meant to be on board), I’d put money on this being an extremely obvious and public version of “falling out of a window”.
If it turns out it was something else, there’s more plausible deniability, though I’d still lean to the orders having come from the Kremlin. But Putin desperately needs to demonstrate his strength against threats, and making the incident an obvious one would presumably serve that goal the best.
I would almost put money against this being an actual accident.
Prigozhin’s days were numbered, as far as I’m concerned. If he’s now dead, he just didn’t get out of the country fast enough. If he isn’t, he’d better disappear and resurface somewhere far away, if he has any sense whatsoever.
