I love Mastodon but it can feel a bit like hanging out at the coffee shop next to the health food store.
As a group; insular and prone to weird fads that start with good intentions but wind up alienating newcomers.
And while the average fedizen has more political consciousness than the average voter; it's worth remembering that this does not translate into greater political acumen or political influence.
