Back in the Weimar era, gold wasn’t easy to acquire.
Unlike Bitcoin today, gold was:
❌ Heavily controlled – Governments confiscated it or made it illegal to own (e.g., the U.S. Gold Confiscation Act of 1933).
❌ Hard to move – You couldn’t just send it across borders. If you were caught trying to escape with gold, good luck—it was easily seized.
❌ Illiquid in crisis – Even if you had gold, finding a fair exchange during hyperinflation was risky and dangerous.
This is why Saylor’s Weimar strategy isn’t as genius as he thinks—because unlike back then, he’s not the only one who can escape.
