i was introduced to "trunk shows" recently.

enthusiastic, mostly women artists create enormous quilts of their own designs and show them off out of the trunk of the car in parking lots.

It made me think that we are all destined to create art, after we get to a certain point in life. those same women probably have cans of garden vegetables in the basement, are looking planning their next big purchase of a sewing machine that will sew through leather.

and some of them outlasted their husbands who fell off garage roofs in their retirement.

really one of the best routes to become an artist is to marry a man who can't sit still in retirement.
