A massive wildfire is moving rapidly due to strong winds, north of Los Angeles in southern California, for the second day today, Thursday, after destroying dozens of homes and forcing thousands of people to flee as its size increased significantly in just a few hours. California Governor Gavin Newsom said in a statement that the massive fire, named 'Mountain Fire', led to evacuation orders for over 10,000 people yesterday, as it threatened 3,500 buildings in suburban, agricultural, and agricultural areas around Camarillo. Ventura County Fire Department reported that the fire was not fully contained until late yesterday. The National Weather Service said that a red flag warning, indicating a high risk of wildfire, will remain in effect until 6 pm. It added that the wind is expected to decrease significantly by evening. The Mountain Fire is burning in an area that has seen some of the most destructive wildfires in California over the years. A thick column of smoke rose hundreds of feet into the air, covering entire neighborhoods, causing visibility problems for firefighters and evacuees.
