These are all deficiencies of personality. These are the leather men of the right wing. They chant because they cannot reason, need leaders and indoctrination because they need a support mechanism as an addict needs drugs. it's a reassurance, when no internal comfort can come to them, when it's beyond their abilities. They need the things no truly free and sentient man will ever need.
They are scared. But not sympathetic characters. Their toxic masculinity and prejudice their crutch.
