Every time I see drama kick up because of it, it’s usually because an artists writes a blog out of the blue along the lines of “henceforth I am no longer doing NSFW. I’ve thought about this a lot over the past couple of <time period>, and decided it’s time to move on,” (bonus points for when the artists picks NSFW stuff back up not too long after or does it in private). It’d be a lot smoother for the artists to just start posting more SFW personal art, take more SFW commissions, and general wane off NSFW stuff slowly. The hard cut off method appears artificial and judgmental to people and it gives them a concrete reason to walk off.
