Regarding the #Gaza war, I do not consider Nazi comparisons for either side - and I have seen them for both sides - to be helpful in any way.
Because using that line of reasoning boils down to: "It is not necessary to understand the perspective of the enemy, only to defeat them with as much force as can be mustered."
