garages are ugly. lots of modern home designs seem to be built around them. this makes practical sense inasmuch as we want/need some place to store our huge hunks of motive metal, but seeing a front profile that amounts to a couple tiny windows over a huge garage door makes it look less like a home & more like a monster, waiting to devour.
love your conversion idea! i did a lot of basic GC/carpentry work with my dad growing up. great memories.
