For Matholwch, money doesn't matter as much as power and status but, seeing as money is a venue to such, he does hoard a rather large treasury.
For the Czar in Jib's tale, I'm still tinkering if I even want to include money. I might just keep things running on traded goods. But same, the Czar only cares for money as a means to power.
