Tori Amos, born Myra Ellen Amos on August 22, 1963, in Newton, North Carolina, is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer known for her emotive voice, intricate piano work, and deeply personal lyrics. Raised in a strict Methodist household—her father was a pastor—she showed prodigious musical talent early, playing piano by age two and composing by five. At five, she won a scholarship to the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore

"Jackie's Strength" is a standout from Amos’s 1998 album From the Choirgirl Hotel, released May 5 via Atlantic Records. Written by Amos and produced with her longtime collaborator Mark Hawley, it’s a reflective piece inspired by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The lyrics weave Amos’s pre-wedding jitters—she married Hawley months before the album dropped—with Jackie’s resilience after JFK’s 1963 assassination

The Wedding Cake Club Mix—part of a 1999 remix single—takes it to a different plane. Remixed by Warren Rigg with additional production by Rigg and Albert Cabrera (of Latin Rascals fame), this 8:40 version transforms the introspective ballad into a pulsing house anthem. It keeps Amos’s haunting vocals and piano flourishes but layers them over a thumping beat and hypnotic loops, stretching the "And Jackie" refrain into a trance-like mantra.
