Read out the full text of this screen shot (from Stephen Thrower's Fulci book) the next time someone sniggers about the dubbing in Italian films. Sorry it's too long to alt text. It continues even stronger saying that popular preferences are only for a realistic -illusion- of naturalistic dialog since most US films include a heavy use of dubbing and that more documentary sound is every bit as offputting to audiences as a primitive dub. (Beyond Terror p. 202-203)
