these days, everybody has a huge library and at least a few games they really like to keep playing, so something new has to be pretty good to keep them engaged

When people started posting about playing Starfield I couldn't help but remember the release for Skyrim and how it was an EVENT. Everyone in my barracks was playing it and some people were actually at the midnight release. Same for Destiny, the release was a huge deal and the last one I can think of where people I knew IRL were hype for a game. Major releases like this would never fly under the radar like this. If I wasn't here on poa.st I wouldn't even know Starfield existed.
