My brother had emerg. op for a perforation in his bowel & worst case scenario because of his cirrohis damage. They cut out the bad part. He barely had a chance, but made it. His stomach was left open, to look for leaks of blood. Tomorrow morning they close him up, but it's complicated w/the same risks of strokes, kidney failure, lung failure, His heart is strong. His pre-op vitals were good actually. We said what we need to, prayed, surgeons prayed. He's in God's hands.
